Application of semiconductor devices in automotive seat heating system

With the development of science and technology, as well as the diversification of user car demand, car manufacturers have been driven by consumer demand, and have developed more diversified and intelligent functions.

 

For example, seat heating, although the cabin is equipped with heating air conditioning, but in the process of driving in the cold winter still feel cold hands and feet, in order to improve the comfort of users, car manufacturers use electrical and material science technology to develop a seat heating function.

Working principle

At present, the car seat heating function on the market uses the characteristics of electric heating wires and carbon fiber heating elements. When the current passes through the heating element in the seat, the heating element will generate heat, and then the seat surface temperature will rise.

 

The seat heating device is placed inside the seat, which cannot be seen by the naked eye. The lower layer of the seat heater is a layer of non-woven fabric, and the heating wire is arranged on the non-woven fabric. The heating wire is fixed with fixed tape, and the knitted fabric is covered and sewn into a shape similar to the seat heating place, and then sewn inside the seat cover.

 

Circuit principle

Gate Driver: Used to control the current and voltage of the motor and amplify the control signal.

MCU (Microcontroller unit) : The control center of the system, which controls and coordinates the work of the various components.

Fan (fan) : Used to regulate the temperature or ventilation of the seat heating.

OPA Sense (Operational amplifier sensing) : Used to sense and feedback the temperature of seat heating or the operating state of the motor.

Motor: Used to adjust the position of the seat or massage function.

Heated Seat (Heated Seat) : is the core part of the entire system, providing seat heating function.

 

TVS and MOSFET play their respective roles in the heated seat system, TVS is responsible for protecting the circuit from voltage transients, while MOSFET is responsible for controlling the current and voltage to achieve the function of the system. The two work together to ensure that the system can run stably and reliably under various working conditions.
